Diary of a Gladiator: 22-23 Yearbooks Are Out!

Sorting, Distribution, and a Random Alarm marked the record-breaking yearbook distribution.

They beat the record:  over 300 books, delivered to 18 classrooms within TWELVE MINUTES.

The staff of the CTK Yearbook, The Ignatian, worked year-round last year to fill 80 pages with memories representing the school year and hit the final submit button on June 5th – long after all other students had started their summer vacation.  Then the wait began…  In late July, they got the call that the yearbooks had shipped and were headed to CTK.

Finally – school started back up and the Yearbook team broke into specialized groups to handle the school-wide distribution.  Yearbook Co-Editor in Chief, Dayvionna Randle was joined by returning staffers Arianna Bell, Amary Gladney, and Za’niah Williams to sort the books, count out per advisory, and prep the delivery cart.  Then, the delivery team, Jaylen Jones and Angelo Gutierrez, lead by Co-Editor in Chief, Saniah Smith, took only 11 minutes to deliver throughout the school!

The team encountered only one snag:  accidentally tripping a fire alarm in the main office!  While we were placing books in teacher mailboxes, a staffer wearing a backpack and flipped a switch on the wall.  Suddenly, the air was screaming with the ringing alarm.  All the admin came running out and calmly turned the alarm off and

“A lot of emotions happened at the same time: fear, surprise, concern, and essentially fearing for my life because I didn’t know what was going to happen!” explained Jaylen Jones…who may or may have not be the backpack wielding perp.

“Students all seemed to like this year’s theme ‘Diary of a Gladiator'” Dayvionna Randle explained.  The entire team didn’t have much time to sit back and enjoy the victory…as they already had to start on this year’s book!

After all the sorting, the distribution cart was ready to go!

Dayvionna Randle, Za’Niah Williams, and Amary Gladney quickly came up with a counting system that made the process speed by.
